Dharmendra Pratap Singh

Biography:
Dr. Dharmendra Pratap Singh serves as an Associate Professor at the Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale (ULCO) in France. He is a member of the Unité de Dynamique et Structure des Matériaux Moléculaires (UDSMM) laboratory and serves as the head of the first-year Industrial Engineering program at the Engineering School of ULCO. Dr. Singh earned his Ph.D. in 2016 from the Department of Physics at the University of Lucknow, India. His current research focuses on columnar materials, discotics, ferroelectrics, nematics, and ferroelectric nematics, as well as their nanoscale equivalents, to investigate charge-transport mechanisms and their applications in energy, sensing, thermoelectrics, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, and organic electronics. In 2025, he was awarded the Silver Medal by the Indian Liquid Crystal Society for his contributions to the field of liquid crystals. In 2017, he was awarded the Young Scientist Award by the Indian Science Congress. He received the Best Research Award from the Indian Liquid Crystal Society in 2012 and the SPIE Early Career Award at Cambridge University in 2013. In 2015, he received the Best Research award from the Korean Display Society (KIDS) and was granted the esteemed Raman-Charpak fellowship in 2014 to do research in France. He has authored around 120 research articles in prestigious publications and four book chapters. He serves as the lead investigator for numerous initiatives, including PHC Star, Procore, Galilée, Alliance, and Samuel de Champlain, collaborating with South Korea, Hong Kong, Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, Belgium, and Canada, respectively. He is now functioning as a reviewer for over 45 esteemed publications, including those from RSC, ACS, APS, Wiley, Elsevier, AIP, IOP, Springer, and Nature. He is a lifetime member of the International Liquid Crystal Society, the Indian Liquid Crystal Society, and an affiliate member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the American Physical Society. He is also serving as "Guest Editor" for the Journal of Materials Chemistry C (RSC), Chemistry: An Asian Journal (Wiley), Journal of Molecular Liquids (Elsevier), and Discover Polymers (Springer).
