Hiroya Nishikawa
Biographie:
Dr. Nishikawa holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Kyushu University where he studied under Prof. Hirotsugu Kikuchi. His academic journey includes a short-term research stay at the University of Milan (Prof. Bellini’s laboratory) and postdoctoral roles at Kyushu University (Prof. Kikuchi’s laboratory) and RIKEN. Since April 2025 he has been a full-time researcher at RIKEN working within the Physicochemical Soft Matter Research Team led by Dr. Fumito Araoka. Dr. Nishikawa’s research centers on liquid crystal science supramolecular chemistry and ferroelectrics with an emphasis on development of ferrofluid-based electro-optical applications. He has published in top-tier journals including Advanced Materials Science Advances and Nature Communications contributing significantly to the understanding of a new class of polar phases.
